Support
Need help with SwiftR2? Below you'll find answers to common questions and ways to get in touch.
Common Issues
Connecting to Cloudflare R2
To connect to Cloudflare R2, you need an API token with the appropriate R2 permissions. You can create one in the Cloudflare dashboard under R2 > Manage R2 API Tokens. Make sure your token has at least read permissions for the buckets you want to browse.
S3-Compatible Connections
SwiftR2 also supports S3-compatible storage providers. You'll need the endpoint URL, access key ID, and secret access key from your provider. Enter these in the connection setup screen and SwiftR2 will connect using the standard S3 protocol.
API Token Storage
Your API tokens and credentials are stored securely in the macOS Keychain. SwiftR2 never stores credentials in plain text or sends them to any server other than the Cloudflare R2 API (or your configured S3-compatible endpoint). If you need to update a token, edit the connection in the App's connection manager.
Connectivity Issues
If you're having trouble connecting, check that:
- Your API token hasn't expired or been revoked
- Your token has the required R2 permissions
- Your internet connection is active
- Cloudflare services are operational — check Cloudflare Status
File Preview
SwiftR2 supports previewing images, JSON, XML, YAML, and code files directly in the App. For unsupported file types, you can download the file to view it with the appropriate application on your Mac.
System Requirements
- macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
- Apple Silicon or Intel Mac
